We're here to make a difference to those who are hurting and struggling. We're volunteers made up from different denominations of the Christian church around Woking, all with a passion to see lives transformed through the love of Jesus Christ. We are fully inclusive and share that love with those who are outside of our church walls, with those of all backgrounds and ages, and those of all faiths and none.

If you would like to know more about what we stand for checkout our "about us" section where you can find our values and vision for this project.

Being active as a Christian can make the difference between your Christian life being boring or exciting. Being active also means that you're creating opportunities for illustrating and demonstrating Christ's relevance to people everywhere... Outside Light is very much about being active as a Christian!

Our desire is to make church relevant to our community by working within it. But there is a cost - which is that to make this vision a reality, church no longer can just be for Sunday. There is, though, reward to - which is that we get to see God working up-close. We get to see lives transformed. Volunteers also enjoy deep fellowship with one another and commitment to each other, all of which is based on our deep love for Jesus Christ.

There is, we think, potential for Outside Light to bring together all of the local Christian churches to work as one body. This is a new part of the Outside Light vision that we are exploring right now. We believe that there is real power when Christians (different churches, different denominations) come together to work under the banner of Jesus Christ. If this does happen there will be so much more opportunity where, for example, someone in Knaphill has a heart for a group of people that exists only in the town centre - and vice-versa.

"This love between Christians is to be characterised by ‘unity instead of rivalry, trust instead of suspicion, and obedience instead of self-assertion’,1 with the measure of this love being his love for us" (John 13:341 John 3:16)
